The Southern Court of Appeal exercises its powers in a district that includes the following courts of first instance:

1) According to the reorganization of the judicial map of Moldova, Law No. 135/2024 amending certain normative acts (revision of the map of courts), effective December 27, 2024, the Comrat Court of Appeal was merged with the Cahul Court of Appeal, forming the South Court of Appeal; with two headquarters: Cahul (central location) and Comrat (secondary location).

2) The territorial subordination of the courts is indicated in accordance with Law No. 76/2016 on the reorganization of judicial authorities,

The Court of Appeal hears appeals against decisions of lower courts – courts of first instance.

I) Appeal of Decisions of First Instance Court:

1.1) Civil Procedure

  • - Summary: Appeal procedure
    An appeal is filed before the court decision enters into legal force. The deadline for filing an appeal is 30 days from the date of the decision, or, in the case of a court ruling, from the date of notification of its issuance.

1.2) Criminal Procedure

  • - Summary: Appeal procedure
    The general appeal deadline is 15 days from the date of the full sentence, unless the law provides otherwise.
