AI tools are particularly beneficial for tasks such as legal research, contract drafting and review, eDiscovery, and compliance, freeing up lawyers to focus on higher-value strategic work and client-facing responsibilities.
September 5, 2024 – In Vilnius, the Republic of Moldova signed the Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence, Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law (CETS No. 225), following a joint effort between the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization and the Ministry of Justice.
The Council of Europe Framework Convention is the first international treaty that provides a comprehensive legal framework for the management of artificial intelligence (AI) systems throughout their entire life cycle, thus guaranteeing respect for human rights, democracy and the principles of the rule of law. This important step confirms the alignment of the Republic of Moldova with European and international standards for the responsible use of AI.
The Convention will be essential in creating a solid national regulatory and policy framework for artificial intelligence systems.
