Consumer rights protection for buisness

Consumer rights protection is the practice of protecting buyers of goods and services, as well as the public, from unfair practices in the marketplace.

Consumer protection measures are aimed to prevent businesses from engaging in fraud or certain unfair practices in order to gain an advantage over competitors or mislead consumers.

Consumer protection is associated with the idea of consumer rights and the formation of consumer organizations that help consumers make better choices in the marketplace and file complaints against companies.

According to Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Moldova No. 1089 dated 18-12-2017.

In Moldova, the Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance is an administrative body responsible for implementing state policy in the areas of activity entrusted to it.

8. The Agency carries out the functions established by this Regulation in the following areas:

1) market supervision in relation to non-food products and compliance of services rendered (including tourism);

2) consumer protection;

3) metrology;

4) supervision and state control over gambling activities;

5) repealed;

6) compliance with licensing conditions according to the area of competence.
